We were delighted to read all your comments and are currently reviewing the information to pass along to ITTONA, the Autonomous Province of Trento, Trentini nel Mondo and the 2012 ITTONA Convention host Club.

We are happy that many of you enjoyed the experience and apologize for those elements that were lacking in some manner. Results of the survey will certainly help enrich future gatherings both in our Toronto Trentino Community as well as others around Canada and the US.

Solidarity Raffle Winners

During the 2010 ITTONA Convention Trentini from near and far, in attendance or at home, came together to help us raise funds for the Rino Zandonai Scholarship Fund as well as Trentini-led Solidarity Projects through the purchase of Solidarity Raffle Tickets.

The 2010 ITTONA Convention Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the collection of $4,000 towards these great opportunities.

What a wonderful weekend spent together in Toronto. The Organizing Committee of the 2010 ITTONA Convention in Toronto was delighted to have hosted you over the weekend for this culturally enriching, entertaining and educational convention. We look forward to gathering with you all again in two years!

Sunday Polenta Picnic

Dear Friends,

We are excited to see you on Sunday at our Polenta Picnic. Not only will we enjoy wonderful homemade sausages and polenta, there will also be games, a Eucharistic Celebration and afternoon snack to tempt the taste buds.

For our visitors attending the picnic, please note that the Convention Committee has organized a shuttle bus service from the Hilton Garden Inn Toronto/Vaughan (3201 Highway 7, Vaughan) to Doctors McLean Park. The shuttle service will be operating starting at 9:00 a.m. to take guests to the site and will return starting at 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The picnic is being hosted at the Doctors McLean Park located at 8100 Islington Ave. The site sits just north of Highway 7 on Islington Ave. As you approach the area you will see signage directing you to the site.

Enjoyment for all our guests gets underway at 10:00 a.m. and wraps at 6:00 p.m.

The 2010 ITTONA Convention Organizing Committee is eagerly awaiting the arrival of our Trentini friends from around North America and the world. We have planned for three fun and informative days allowing us to celebrate our roots and connect with new and old friends.

All Convention activities, with the exception of the Friday night bus tour and Sunday Polenta Picnic, will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Vaughan.

The hotel is located at the intersection of Hwy. 7 & Hwy. 400 and is an easy taxi commute from Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Please remember that it is your responsibility to arrange transportation to and from the airport for your arrival and departure as the hotel does not offer a shuttle service.

Check-in for the Convention starts on Thursday, July 22 from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. and again on Friday, July 23 at 9:00 a.m.

Each participant will be given a personalized and colour-coded name tag that must be visibly worn at all times in order to gain access to the presentations, events and meals that are part of the Convention.

The Friday night downtown Toronto Bus Tour is open to Full Package participants only. Five buses will depart from the Hotel at 15 minute intervals beginning at 7:00 p.m. It is your responsibility to sign-up for the bus departure time of your choosing during check-in.

The Convention Organizing Committee is also happy to provide shuttle bus service to and from the Picnic site and hotel for our guests. Buses will begin transporting guests to the Picnic site on Sunday at approximately 9:00 a.m. They are scheduled for return service, every 20 minutes, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Due to the popularity of the upcoming 2010 ITTONA Convention, in particular the Gala Dinner and traditional Polenta Picnic, we are no longer accepting registrations at this time.

To ensure that everyone in attendance has an enjoyable experience, we are committed to controlling the attendance numbers which have soared of late.

Solidarity Raffle Brings Community Together

Always committed to helping those in need, Trentino communities around the world have consistently involved themselves in outreach programs. During the upcoming 2010 ITTONA Convention, we are pleased to host a Solidarity Raffle during the Gala Dinner on Saturday, July 24.

Funds raised through ticket sales will go towards various Trentini led projects in addition to the creation of a scholarship in memory of Rino Zandonai, the beloved former Director of Trentini Nel Mondo.

19 great prizes will be awarded including original artwork, jewelry, hand crafted items and china to name a few.

The 2010 ITTONA Convention Organizing Committee is proud to offer a dynamic, fun-filled, culturally and historically rich program of activities throughout the three day event.

The formal program and schedule is currently being finalized but we are excited about what you will see, hear and enjoy and wanted to share the following program highlights with you:

North American premiere of The Klondike’s Calling. Debuted at 2010 Film Festival della Montagna to international acclaim. Presented by director Paula Rosà and cinematographer Antonio Senter.
Italian Citizenship Forum covering issues and questions with Trentini Nel Mondo legal expert Lara Olivetti.
Worldwide launch of Beyond the Threshold of Time. Presented by journalist Giorgio Lunelli, Consigliere Provincia Autonoma di Trento, with autograph session by author Alberto Folgheraiter. Complimentary book given to full-package registrants only.

Additional presentations and seminars are being finalized each day and we encourage you to continue to visit the website for all up-to-date information.

As a reminder, please note that all activities mentioned above, as well as others in the works, are only open to Full Package registrants.

Thank you to all Trentini from around North America who sent in their completed registration forms for the upcoming 2010 ITTONA Convention taking place from July 23-25 in Toronto. We are looking forward to an exciting weekend of presentations, casual gatherings and traditional meals with new and old friends.

Held every two years, the ITTONA Convention remains a popular event and this year is no different. We continue to accept registrations and payment ($300.00CDN / $310.00USD) though we urge you to submit them as soon as possible.

The planning continues and further announcements will be made in the weeks to come. We invite you to visit our website regularly to remain up-to-date.

Siamo contenti di potervi ospitare sapendo gia` da ora che saranno tre belle giornate ricche di interessanti conferenze, di presentazioni informative, di filmati in prima visione, di cordiali riunioni e di momenti conviviali tra vecchi e nuovi amici.

Se purtroppo non avete ancora confermato la vostra presenza, consigliamo di farlo al piu` presto possibile. Si accettano ancora prenotazioni ($300CDN / $310USD) soprattuto perche` questo evento, che si ripete ogni due anni, richiama l'attenzione di molti che magari vengono saperlo in ritardo.

Registration Deadline Approaching

Early birds get the worm...or in this case, guaranteed reservations and access.

Friday, May 28 marks the last day individuals can register for the 2010 ITTONA Convention at the early bird rate of $275CDN / $285US.

Registration fees move to $300CDN and $310US for any registration received or postmarked after that date. Please note that all registration forms and payments are due together at the time of submission.

In addition, after receiving a few frantic calls and emails regarding hotel bookings, please note that the Hilton Garden Inn Toronto/Vaughan has agreed to extend the reservation deadline to Friday, May 28...but no later.

We continue to hold all rooms in our event's block but it is up to you to book your space before we are sold out. Only a few rooms remain and before opening them to the public we wanted to make sure you had first access.

The 2010 ITTONA Convention Host Committee is pleased to announce the extension of the hotel reservation deadline to Saturday, May 15, 2010. We are close to sold out capacity and urge you to act quickly if you have not already reserved your room at the host hotel; the Hilton Garden Inn Toronto/Vaughan.

Reservations can be conveniently made by phone (1-877-STAY-HGI or 905-660-4700) or via our private online registration portal. If calling to reserve your room, remember to quote 'ITTONA Convention' to be eligible for our discounted rates.

CONVENTION REGISTRATION
Please remember that May 28 marks the end of our early bird registration period for the 2010 ITTONA Convention. After that date, the full registration fee will increase to $300.00CDN and $310.00USD.

Payments are being accepted, with completed registration forms, by certified cheque, money order, bank draft or personal cheques. Please note, any NSF transactions will incur and automatic $50.00 charge.
